Mapping the city

Mapping is a process of observation, where city streets are transformed into scenography and everyday motion into choreography. The author sets up rules of observation and behaviour on location.
The first part of the project Mapping the city was created as part of the Ukrep / CoFestival and produced by Dance Theatre Ljubljana. In this part, mapping was executed in Prule and in Šiška.

The idea behind mapping is now spread along other streets in the city of Ljubljana, as well as other cities.
Dejan Srhoj is a dancer and choreographer. He works as a dance pedagogue and curator of the Ukrep and Pleskavica festivals. He has created his own choreographic as well as he has worked as a choreographer for diverse theatre performances and the opera and collaborated with numerous choreographers. He is cofounder of Fičo balet (Fico Ballet) and The Nomad Dance Academy.
